DBCO-PEG4-hydrazone-Mal is a cleavable heterobifunctional linker functionalized with a DBCO moiety for click chemistry and a maleimide group. The dibenzocyclooctyne group (DBCO) is thermally stable with high specific reactivity toward azide group through strain-promoted click reaction in the absence of a catalyst. 

Biocompatible – click reaction occurs efficiently under mild buffer conditions; requires no accessory reagents such as a copper catalyst or reducing agents (e.g. DTT)
Chemoselective – azide and DBCO groups do not react or interfere with other functional groups found in biological samples but conjugate to one another with high efficiency
Hydrophilic spacer – PEG4 spacer enhances solubility in aqueous buffers

Cleavable hydrazone bond – can be cleaved under acidic condition
